Furniture Design

Designed and prototyped an organic, all-wood table and chair using free-hand sketches, later developed into 3D models in Rhino.

For this project, I drew inspiration from various furniture designs and sculptures that I admired and envisioned combining them into something unique. My goal was to create pieces with an all-wood base and an organic, fluid shape, evoking the feeling of being surrounded by nature—almost as if you were stepping into a forest.

For the chair design specifically, I aimed to mimic the feeling of tree branches and almost a cocoon-like space. The shelving area above or below the seat serves a dual purpose—it can be used for storage (like books) or even as a cozy spot for smaller pets to relax alongside you.

I explored how my table design interacts with different interiors by photoshopping it into two real-life spaces I admire—one from Studio Mellone (top) and another by Jamie Bush (bottom). The surrounding furniture pieces are curated from various designers and showrooms I’ve visited, chosen to complement the table’s form and materials. This exercise helped visualize how the design functions in diverse environments and refine my approach to composition.
